About

Founding Board Member and former Plain Dealer Reporter who recently retired from the Plain Dealer newspaper, where he worked for 30 years. From 1993 to 2019, he wrote a weekly syndicated comic book column for the newspaper. In 2006, Mike wrote a full page article demanding that Cleveland do something to recognize Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster as creators of Superman. The response by readers was overwhelming and the Siegel and Shuster society was formed. He also taught comic book history at Case Western reserve University, and previously journalism at Temple University and Columbia College. He currently serves as a village council member of South Amherst, Ohio.
